Baby Pictures!

Hello World, meet my new baby, a Giant Anthem 07 pro-deal'd through Sweet Pete's and welcome addition to the blank space on my bicycle rack. Isn't she just beautiful?

Wow! That is one pretty bike. It is so white and so clean! Imagine this baby after a good ride at Hardwood hills through the mud and down the Bone Shaker.
You will be glad that you have that Giant Anthem 0 featuring Giant’s lightweight ALUXX SL butted alloy tubeset, titanium shock hardware and aggressive XC racing geometry when you have to throw this bike over your shoulder or when you are making your way up the big hills.
The Shiny Silver RaceFace Deus Crank is a trimmed down version of the original Turbine LP, the Deus crank is the lightest all-aluminum crank Raceface ever made. Designed specifically for cross country racing, this crank offers impressive strength and stiffness in an incredibly light package. It is built in the BC manufacturing facility giving jobs to Canadians! It is manufactured from Optim-Al - one of the strongest, most fatigue resistant aluminum alloys available. At least when you are fatigued at the end of a race you can rest assured that your crank is still going strong! It is fully CNC machined. (Does anyone know what that means exactly? It has an Aggressive I-Beam profiling for improved stiffness and strength. It is important to be aggressive in MTB racing. That way you can pass your opponents. Those built in Spacers that allow the use of shorter bolts, provide an additional weight savings. Every gram counts! It also features super light, butted, heat treated NiCrMo spindle. Most butts are lighter after heat treatment!
FOX 40 Fork - very foxy!
This is probably heavier then the whole frame! Weighing in at just under seven-pounds, (~3500grams) the new 40 uses 40mm (not a coincidence) stanchions and huge, oversized aluminum cast lower legs for an incredibly stiff BIG feel without the weight its appearance would suggest. The fork’s oversized castings allow for added strength with reduced material, as well as the added bonus of increased turning radius thanks to a wider distance between stanchions. The left stanchion holds a titanium coil/oil spring with external spring preload adjustment, while the right stanchion houses Fox’s proprietary externally adjustable dual-speed, position-sensitive damper as well as an externally adjustable rebound.
Gotta have Tires

Hutchinson Piranha MRC High Tubeless Tire is a new ultra light tire ideal for fast rolling & hard pack terrains. Lateral knobs to insure an excellent cornering grip. 2.0 section for the greatest compromise between weight and performance and 2.30 section to increase comfort. Longitudinal rubber reinforcement on 26 x 2.30 size to avoid snake bites. (I hope that there are no snakes where you ride! Maybe this is for the days you ride in Arizona or something) MRC HIGH technology offers a bi-component rubber for more grip in cornering and stronger casing.

Designed specifically for cross country riding, MRC HIGH tires are composed of two rubbers (50% and 40% rebound) positioned on the tire according to the 4 EXTRUSION technology. The rubber with 50% rebound is situated on the central part of the tire in order to optimize the output and wear resistance. The rubber with 40% rebound is applied on the lateral surfaces of the tread to increase grip performance.
(In basic terms, I think that they are telling you that it is a tubeless tire, it is lightweight and durable, corners well and has a good grip. Too much techy talk and not enough good information!) Tubeless tires allow you to run a lower air pressure without the risk of pinch flatting a tube. (Snake bites!) This lower air pressures allows maximum traction because of the increased surface contact.
You can even run these tires on front or rear which makes them more practical! No doubt your rims are tubeless or Giant wouldn’t have put Piranha’s on them.

Have you ever noticed how bike parts are named after animals and wild creatures,…fox, piranhas. It is a zoo out there!

Ride Safe, Go big!

Always cheering for you
Mom
